Week 1, Term 2

Hope you have all had a relaxing break with some amazing weather, up until this weekend.

Myself and Molly have enjoyed working on some new ideas we have for this coming term and we are excited at the outcomes for learning that will come from these.
One change we are making is that we are bringing our Whānau Hui time forward to 9am. We will start Hui with our Karakia and a Waiata. We have some other aspects we would like to add to our Hui time and we will develop these over the next few weeks and months.
One of our reasons for bringing this forward is for us to spend more time on Wordlab as we feel we have not given this enough time. This also allows more time to be given to Maths. Handwriting is still very important and this can be finished at literacy time if it is not done by 9am.

As you know Molly is overseas for a family wedding.
I have spent that last few weeks just being a Mum and Nanna. It has been great to have some adventures with my grandson Oakley, and also train our Border Collie, Atlas (or try to train him)!

Just a few reminders:

  •  Lynley is in for Molly for the first 2 1/2 weeks of the term.
  • Emma is our new Teacher Aide, for this next term, please introduce yourself to her.
  • School Sign-in: if you are on the school grounds any time between 9:30am and 2:30pm it is essential that you sign in at the office. This is due to heath and safety. If anything were to happen, we need to know who is on the premises. THANK YOU!
  • End of the day: It is essential that you are at school to pick your child up or have arranged an alternative, at 2:50pm. We will remind the students that if their parents are not here they are to wait at the yellow seats by the office and are not to go on the playground.
  • Cross Country: is Monday of week 4, 21st May. A notice will come home today. Please read and return relevant forms. WE DO NEED HELPERS!
We are really excited about the term ahead!

Ngā mihi nui,

Paula, Molly, Lynley, and Emma :o)
