Week 5

Kia ora koutou

Welcome to week 5, where did those weeks go!

So what's happening this week:

  • Wednesday Senior Swimming Sports - there are a few year 4's that will be competing, so if this is your child they would have brought home a notice last week with times etc for the today. They will be competing in the Non-champion events.
  • Assembly this Friday - Matawara are sharing.
  • MINT and Student Council speeches: Mint will be on Thursday afternoon in front of Juliana, Linda and the MINT team. Student Council will be in our team on Friday afternoon.
Notices:
  • We will be having a Swimming Carnival on Tuesday 6 March in the afternoon to show what we have been doing at swimming. This will also be with Whakarewa so please keep an eye out for email about this later this week.
  • Gala: This is only a few weeks away and the PTA are needing your support so please can you read the notice below from Krissie. We would like to remind you how much our fantastic PTA do for our school that everyone benefits from, so any help that you can support then with is very much appreciated.

Clarkville School Twilight Gala - 23 March 2018
We rely on a lot of community support to run the gala. Last week an email was sent home with how you can help, to see this information go to https://clarkvillepta.weebly.com/twilight-gala.htmlThere are plenty of ways your family can be involved. Please get in touch with Krissie to let her know how you can help.

If you are not receiving our team emails please let us know as this means that you are not in our group contact list.

Wordlab:
On Tuesday your child will bring home a Wordlab resource kit for you to use at home. In class we will be working on the year 3 and 4 words, but will refer back to the year 1 and 2 words when we feel these are not yet learnt, for example when we see the same words spelt wrong when writing. In this resource there are also some fun ways to help your child learn these words at home. We will work on three words a week in our team and we will put these on the blog each week, so you know where we are up too. We do know that some of the words from the year 1-2 lists your child will not know, but we feel to support their learning gong further we need to work on their year level as this means from year to year they can progress through this programme throughout the school. This is why your support with using this kit at home is vital to your child's success. Please get in touch if you need anymore information.
